LOCATION: Tulsa, Oklahoma
This project involved almost $10 million of channel improvements and utility relocations and included the construction of two detention ponds on Mill Creek, a tributary of Mingo Creek. Mingo Creek improvements are part of a multi-million dollar joint program of the City of Tulsa and the Corps of Engineers to alleviate flooding on Mingo Creek in eastern Tulsa. The Mill Creek work involved HEC-1 and HEC-2 analysis of a two-mile section of the creek beginning at its confluence with Mingo Creek, preliminary and final design, right-of-way plans, and plans for utility relocations (including street, water and sewers).
