LOCATION: Fort Smith, Arkansas
Crafton Tull provided roadway and bridge design services to widen the existing Kelley Highway Bridge from two lanes to four. The project was constructed in stages to accommodate existing traffic. Mechanically stabilized earth walls were constructed at the abutments to provide clear zones along I-540. The bridge’s statistics include a 202 foot cont. comp. W-beam unit, 51 feet of clear roadway and sidewalks on each side. The off-ramps were widened and signals were added.
