LOCATION: Tulsa, Oklahoma
This was a Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority project that included design and engineering services for improvements to the waste activated sludge thickening system, grit processing system improvements, yard piping, and consolidation of two permitted effluent outfall structures into one outfall capable of discharging 84 MGD. Crafton Tull also provided plans for the construction of 400’ of 54” concrete pipe, a submerged headwall, replacement of equipment for primary clarifiers 3 and 4, three new 8’x8’ junction boxes along the bank of the Arkansas River which required the Corp of Engineers permitting, a two-story Rotary Drum Thickener building with the installation of three Rotary Drum Thickeners, 34 drilled piers at RDT Building, changing of two sluice gates in a junction box, and miscellaneous storm sewer, paving, drainage, site utility and structural work. Crafton Tull worked with Black and Veatch on the design of these improvements which were implemented through two construction contracts.
